Evalutate Your Life DayDo you ever sit and think about your life and how it’s going? Are you pleased with your outcome thus far? Chances are, you have plenty of things you’d like to change about your current lifestyle if given a chance. Well, what’s stopping you? October 19th is known as Evaluate Your Life Day, a day that is seemingly ideal to stop and take note of your current place in the universe. After all, there are lots of aspects in our lives we have to think about – it is easy to let one of those areas slip through the proverbial cracks. So why not sit down and relax a moment, really think about how you feel. Are you staying on top of your health? Is your family well taken care of? Are you happy with your current financial situation?

Many times, the areas in our life that bother us affects our general demeanor. The worse we feel about things, the more we project those feelings through our attitudes. We smile less, we aren’t as lively and we may even let this effect the way we treat ourselves. Worry, stress and a desire for more are all natural reactions when it comes to thinking about our lives. But there are instances that worry or stress can result in actual physical health issues, like teeth grinding or other dental/internal issues due to poor diets or lack of hygiene. Evaluate Your Life Day is the ideal time to reflect on things you would like to fix and ways to do so in order to release any ill feelings you have regarding your current status. So take the time to ask yourself:

Knowing you can change things to improve your life and your outlook on it, what would you change?

When sitting and reflecting, it is important to ask yourself some key questions to really get into making improvements. Start with the basics:

What: What are the things that are bothering you about your life? What can be done so they can be seen in a more positive light?

When: When do you think things went awry? When would you like to reach your goal?

Why: Why does this change your demeanor? Why is this certain thing have such a huge part in your life?

And finally, how: How can your situation change for the better? How can you change in order to achieve these goals?

Take some notes. Figure out what your priorities are and focus on those first. If it’s your health, make a plan to exercise more and switch up your diet a bit. If it’s finances, seek out some advice from a professional. Everything has an answer; it just needs to be sought after. But also keep in mind – nothing good comes easily. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither are you. So while you are all gung-ho on quick results, it is better to focus on small changes, instead of the big picture. There is no rush to doing this. Your life is long and you have a lifetime to improve things for yourself. As you hit your smaller goals, you’ll find you are also achieving the larger ones. Goals are achieved, spirit is lifted and your demeanor will change to a more positive one. It will attract more good to your life. And don’t be surprised if you find that people around you notice – there will be a perpetual smile on your face as proof.
